The experience

Wheels and vines: Experience the best of Queenstown’s scenic trails and wine country with a bike ride from Arrowtown to Gibbston Valley

Ride the Arrow River Bridges Trail

Embark on an unforgettable half-day mountain biking adventure from Queenstown to Arrowtown with our guided tour. Begin with a 25-minute shuttle from Around The Basin’s shop in Queenstown, and get equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable ride.

As you pedal along the scenic Queenstown Trail network, you’ll meander along the banks of the Arrow and Kawarau rivers, crossing six bridges, including three suspension bridges, and tracing the historic path used by 19th-century gold miners. Take in the breathtaking views of river gorges and glacial landscapes, and capture stunning photos along the way.

As you ride through the Kawarau Bungy-Jump Bridge, the trail opens up to the majestic Gibbston Wine Valley, where you’ll have time to sample some of the region’s world-class wines at one of the valley’s first cellar doors. After a leisurely afternoon of riding and wine-tasting, return to Queenstown on our shuttle service.

This easy-to-moderate ride features wide, gravel trails with gentle undulations and fewer ‘ups’ than ‘downs’, making it suitable for riders of all abilities, including families. Join us for an unforgettable day of mountain biking and wine appreciation in the beautiful Queenstown region.
